Pressure calculators
for stainless steel tubes
Two free online tools from Alleima — the pressure calculator and the control line calculator — for estimating the maximum allowable working pressure of stainless steel tubes and control lines. We point our customers to them and help interpret the results for real projects.
About the Alleima pressure calculators
Alleima provides two calculators in its technical center for the pressure rating of seamless stainless steel tubing. As a stockholder and consulting partner, Schierle Siyaya links to these tools and helps you apply the results to your project.
The pressure calculator supports the European standard EN 13480-3, the American standard ASME B31.3, the German standard DIN 2413 and the Swedish code RN 78. You choose a standard and Alleima grades, enter the tube size, and read the maximum internal pressure from 20 °C up to 400 °C. The control line calculator estimates internal yield and burst pressure for control-line tubing, with a choice of formula, diameter, wall thickness and well temperature.

Frequently asked questions
- What is the Alleima pressure calculator?
- It is a free online tool from Alleima's technical center that estimates the maximum allowable internal pressure of stainless steel tubes, based on a chosen standard (EN 13480-3, ASME B31.3, DIN 2413 or RN 78), material grade, tube size and operating temperature.
- What does the Alleima control line calculator do?
- It estimates the internal yield and burst pressure of control-line tubing for downhole and instrumentation applications, letting you select the calculation formula, outer diameter, wall thickness and well temperature.
- Which standards and grades are covered?
- The pressure calculator covers EN 13480-3, ASME B31.3, DIN 2413 and RN 78, with Alleima grades such as 3R12 (1.4306), 3R60 (1.4435), 254 SMO (1.4547), SAF 2205 (1.4462) and SAF 2507 (1.4410).
- Are the calculated pressures binding?
- No. The values are guidance only. Pipe-system design also depends on external forces, thermal stresses and dead weight, and must be approved by the responsible local authorities. Contact Schierle Siyaya for a binding assessment and material sourcing.
These calculators are operated by Alleima. The pressures they suggest are guidance only — the dimensioning of piping systems also depends on external forces, thermal stresses and dead weight, and the design must follow local regulations and be approved accordingly. Schierle Siyaya links to these tools to support its customers and accepts no liability for the results.
